Tenacious D brought their rock opera Post-Apocalypto to ACL Live and took the audience on a wild adventure. The rock opera was a stop motion movie made of crude stills drawn by Jack Black and projected onto a giant screen that the band was behind occasionally playing songs along with the comedy musical. It was hilariously balanced with comedy, a perfect amount of rock, drama, intrigue, and a bit of political commentary. As if that wasn’t enough to entertain the crowd, they played a set of their hits after the rock opera. In a city filled with live music, this was a new and refreshing change.
