Austin, Texas – Emo’s Austin
Touring their new album The Clearing, Wolf Alice made an unforgettable stop in Austin, Texas. To only call this a performance would not be doing this show justice. This was an experience that many fans will hold close to their heart.
Taking over one of the biggest stages in Austin, Wolf Alice made sure to make this performance special unlike anything the venue has seen before. With 21 songs on their setlist, each song was performed with energy and this energy was matched with fans following along with the lead singer, Ellie Rowsell, as she took control of everyone.
The night started off with “Thorns”, a slower opener immediately grabbed the audience’s attention and set the tone for the rest of the night. Each song that followed only showcased the talent of Wolf Alice. The crowd didn’t care that they were losing their voices, all they cared was that the band was getting the love they deserved.
From that entire night, my favorite moment was the encore that everybody was looking forward to hearing the first notes of “Don’t Delete The Kisses”. Word for word, the crowd sang together and they cried together. This was much more than a song being performed, it was a moment in time that goes beyond anything you can listen to on your phone.
When any artist goes through Austin, you will have a wave of fans talking about it a couple days before the show. For Wolf Alice, this was the talk of the town months before the show even happened. Fans were excited for this tour and they were ready to sing whatever was put on the setlist that night. Going into any show, you’ll always have the diehard fans upfront singing their hearts out and in the back you will have people that maybe bought a ticket to see what Wolf Alice is about… This wasn’t one of those concerts. Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY at the venue was singing each and every song. I’ve gone to a lot of concerts and never have I ever seen anything like that. This really goes to show how much love this fanbase has towards the band and not only that but how much love is created from the music Wolf Alice puts into the universe. Wolf Alice may have only been there for that day, but their music never leaves Austin
