On June 12, 2025, Mohawk’s indoor stage was hijacked by Peelander‑Z, the “Japanese Action Comic Punk Band” from Planet Z, delivering a performance that was part rock show, part performance art. Decked in vibrant, sentai-style suits they insist are their “skin,” band members like Peelander Yellow, Red, and Blue paraded their comic personas while serenading fans with a high-energy blend of punk rock and theatrical absurdity.
True to their reputation, the band’s set was a riot of interaction and spontaneity. Cue cards prompted the crowd’s call-and-response cheers, impromptu limbo and pot-banging segments drew fans on stage, and even “human bowling” antics were part of the feast of physical comedy and audience participation. Peelander‑Z’s signature escapades —stage diving, wrestling-style props, and juggling —kept Mohawk’s crowd in near-constant motion and laughter.
Blending genuine punk-musical chops with outrageous theatricality, Peelander‑Z reaffirmed why their live shows are legendary. Mohawk’s audience was fully engaged —from head-banging and stage-side participation to roaring approval —leaving with more than just a concert memory: they’d experienced a thoroughly unique, interactive punk spectacle.
