Los Coast have been quietly making big splashes in the local music scene. They are a quintet of local Austin musicians filling venues with a healthy dose of funk, psych and soulful rock. Bracing a midnight headlining time slot at Mohawk. Los Coast performed a slow burn of funk and soul that competed against the chilly weather and holiday hangovers around this time of year. Dropping temperatures did not keep any folks at home with the crowd pushing past into the bar to pack in. The fan ship is rightfully so. They put out high energy rock, screaming eagle vocals, with original songwriting and chemistry of a band that has been threw the rough for 10 years. Their list of accolades includes being the recipients of the Black Fret Artist via Black Fret and Dell, November 9th being declared “Los Coast Day” by Mayor Steve Adler, a successful residency run at Mohawk, and most striking a deal with New West Records (Ben Folds, Shovels & Rope) to record and release studio work in 2018! Needless to say, this is only the beginning for this crew who have a heck of a bright future ahead of them. We should hopefully some album work in the next few months.
